CURRENT SITUATION/HEALTH: SILVANA FIGAR
Medical specialist in internal medicine. Master in Epidemiology (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine). Postgraduate in Statistics for Health Sciences (Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires). Coordinator of the Research Department and the Epidemiology Section of the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires. She was in charge of the COVID-19 program in poor neighborhoods of CABA.
EDUCATION: CARMEN LAFFONT
She is part of the project Creating Bridges to include mothers from Fray Luis Beltrán in Maipú-Mendoza. Director and teacher of the Center for Basic Education for Youth and Adults (Cebja) Marilin Penna de Ferro, in Maipú, Mendoza. Carmen and her team identified that women were abandoning their studies because they had children to care for and decided to create a daycare center for women who study at night and have no one to leave their children with.
INNOVATION: PIA GARAT
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer at EOLO PHARMA, a drug development company born from the entrepreneurial spirit of its researchers and the desire to bring new treatments for metabolic and cardiovascular diseases to the market. Biotechnology Engineer from the ORT University of Montevideo with a postgraduate degree from the IE University in Spain.
CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION: MARIA JOSE NAVAJAS
Researcher in History and co-founder of Padres Organizados, a group that fights for in-person education for their children as a result of the COVID19 pandemic. Adjunct researcher, Ravignani Institute – CONICET. She has written numerous publications and been part of various research projects related to social and political structures, consensus building and citizenship. She was born in the province of Tucumán and holds a degree in History with a Master's and Doctorate.
TRAJECTORY: LADYS MIRYAM FALICO
Agricultural Engineer. First female Dean of the National University of Entre Ríos and one of the first in the country. Today retired, but with a great career behind her: she worked at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology and has more than 150 published scientific works.
They are true #WomenWithInitiative, leaders in their fields who inspire us and motivate us to continue contributing value to the world. They will be recognized at an event specially dedicated to them where they will have the opportunity to receive the award, meet the jury and get to know each other.
